GEORGI K. ZHUKOV
(1896 - 1974) Soviet Field Marshall, perhaps the greatest general of World War II, he survived crushing poverty and Stalin's purges to command the Russian armies at the monumental battles of Moscow and Kursk, and in the taking of Berlin. Partly-printed D.S. 2pp. legal folio, May 31, 1945, a promotion for Pavel Znachenko to the rank of general major of the Anti-tank Artillery Brigade. Zhukov signs in his typical indelible blue pencil on the final page, and additionally signed by two others. With an unsigned typed D.S. in Cyrillic, 1p. oblong 8vo., [n.p.], 1946, punishing Znachenko for "immoral actions and for using his position for his personal gain", and demoting him to a lesser unit. Irregular right margin, otherwise very good condition. Two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
