Description:

(GEORGE WASHINGTON)
An unusual piece, an engraved invitation, 6" x 4", to dine with George and Martha Washington during his Presidency. The document reads, in full: "The President of the United States and Mrs. Washington, request the Pleasure of _________ Company to Dine, on ______ next, at ____o'Clock. ______179_ An answer is requested" Early printed presidential invitations are fairly scarce in the marketplace and highly desirable among presidential and political collectors. Tiny spot of foxing affects one letter in first line, else very fine condition. Nicely matted and ready for framing.

American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Money Order / Cashiers Check, Paypal, Personal Check, Visa, Wire Transfer
