JAMES CRAIK (1730-1814) Scottish-born physician, the personal physician of George Washington. He commanded a field hospital during the siege of Yorktown and also served as Washington's medical officer during the French and Indian Wars. Manuscript D.S. 2pp. folio, Charles County, Maryland, Nov. 20, 1776, an indenture regarding the sale of land between one William Lindsay and Henry Riddell. On Nov. 19-20, 1776, more than 4,000 British forces commanded by Cornwallis crossed the Hudson River and into Fort Lee, forcing Washington into a hasty retreat. Boldly signed twice as Justice and Magistrate. Reinforced with tape at central fold, a couple of small marginal splits, very good condition.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
