GEORGE V AND EDWARD VIII
(1865 - 1936) King of England, son of Edward VII and husband of Mary of Teck who led England through the dark days of World War I and in the agreement with the Irish Free State. Partly-printed D.S. 1p. folio (12 1/2" x 15"), Saint James's, June 3, 1935, in which King George awards Thomas Hann an "...Additional Member of the Civil Division of Our said Most Excellent Order of the Empire...". Co-signed by EDWARD VIII as Prince and Grand Master. Edward (1894 - 1972) is best remembered for his abdication of the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Along with a fine sterling silver medal, engraved "For God and the Empire" on recto, with initials GRL on verso with appropriate English hallmarks. Suspended on a purple silk ribbon, in its original leather case stamped "M. B. W. Mily" on cover. Two pieces, a rare pairing.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
