GEORGE BERNARD SHAW
(1856-1950) British playwright and critic with classic acerbic wit. His works include Pygmalion, The Devil's Disciple, and much criticism of the arts. An interesting typed D.S. 2pp. 4to., London, Jan. 8, 1924, a contract for "...The Author's Fees for Professional Productions..." for the performance of his play Fanny's First Play at "St. Matthew's Hall, Warwick Road, Upper Clapton". Shaw had penned Fanny's First Play anonymously, but it was later discovered as his work and went on to have the longest run of any of his plays. Fine condition.
