Garfield" as U.S. Senator, 1p., 8" x 3 3/4", [Washington], January 29, 1877, a bank check completely in Garfield's hand made payable to "Myself" in purple ink on a House of Representatives Counter Check in the amount of $750.00. A Sergeant-at-Arms stamp appears well above the signature. An unusually clean example in fine condition. Tastefully matted and framed with a small engraving. $300 - 400
