363. HAYES VS. TILDEN RECOUNT PASSES An rare set of five passes from the counting of electoral votes in the disputed election of Rutherford B. Hayes versus Samuel Tilden, each 4 3/4" x 3" and reading: "Counting the Vote for President and Vice President ADMIT BEARER To the Gallery of the House of Representatives". With facsimile signatures of Thomas W. Ferry and Samuel J. Randall. Two passes are for Feb. 3, 1887, one for Feb. 7 and two for Feb. 10. All five passes bear significant tape stains yet still remain presentable. From the estate of Lincoln bodyguard and White House employee William Crook. $400 - 600
