Description:

FRITZ SAUCKEL
(1894 - 1946) Nazi chief of slave labor recruitment who seized over five million workers and kept them under the vilest conditions. Tried, convicted and hanged at Nuremburg. Intriguing A.D.S. 2pp. legal folio, [n.p., n.d. but penned during the Nuremburg Trials of 1946]. Sauckel writes a list of persons who worked with him during the War and who may be called as witnesses. With full translation, reading, for example: "...Fritz Sauckel List of persons who generally participated in staff meetings about labor allocations. Dr. Timm, Department Nr. 6, Ministry of Labor...Dr. Hildebrandt, Senior Counsellor in the civil service...Dr. Letsch, minister of Labor...Dr. Kaestner, labor ministry...", and so forth. Additional individuals named are: "Dr. Knolle, Dr. Stothfang, Berk, Dr. Schmelter, Staatsrat Penkert, President Jung, Director Goetz, Dr. Didker...". Sauckel concludes his list, justifies its accuracy and rats out his former colleagues: "This list of has been made entirely from memory. This is the circle of persons I dealt with professionally. They are witnesses to the fact that I: 1. Was constantly concerned about correct and impeccable procedures. 2. Only gave just orders concerning the treatment of foreign laborers. 3. Never gave any orders for criminal actions, etc. or committed them myself...To the best of my recollection, the East-labor salary regulations were initiated by Goering and Himmler and were officially signed by Goering...".
