Description:

760. ANNA FREUD (1895 - 1982) Austrian psychoanalyst and a pioneer in children's psychoanalysis, daughter of Sigmund Freud. Freud also founded a leading center for the study of child development. An interesting archive of material, comprising approx. 50 pages of original material from The Emerson Press relative to its publication of Freud's influential volume Psychoanalysis for Teachers and Parents. The archive includes: two T.L.S. from Freud to Emerson Press, April 26 and May 10, 1946 respectively, regarding the publication of a new preface for the book, as well as numerous pages of carbon copies of letters to and from Emerson about the book's publication, original contracts and licensing documents (not signed by Freud), attorneys' letters, an original printer's proof of the book's dustjacket, reviews, and so forth. In good condition overall, with some wear and rusted paper clip impressions to some documents. An interesting glimpse into the workings of a publication, certainly worthy of further research. $200 - 300
