Description:

Franklin D. Roosevelt Good content T.L.S. as President on pale green White House letterhead 1p. 8vo., Washington, May 3, 1940 Roosevelt writes to his son-in-law John Boettiger: my plans for the summer are terribly vague. Ever since I told the Press about my proposed trip things have changed so for the worse in Europe that it looks now as though I could not get away at all. I will not be able to make any definite plans until Congress goes home . Roosevelt had good reason for concern: the Nazi blitzkrieg was in full swing in western Europe with isolationists resisting his policies at home. Very good.
