(1708-1765) Holy Roman Emperor and Grand Duke of Tuscany, founder of the Habsburg-Lorraine with his wife Maria Theresa, who wielded the real power of Francis' positions. Manuscript D.S. "Franz" in German, 3pp. folio, Vienna, Oct. 10, 1757, transmitting to his chancellor and privy councilors a complaint lodged by Karl Anselm, 4th Prince of Thurn and Taxis, concerning Prussian King Frederick the Great's violations of Imperial postal patents, particularly in regards to illicit postal service in Oldendorf. Francis signs at the conclusion in black ink, with two other court officials countersigning. The document includes an integral outer envelope sheet with a large blind-embossed paper and wax seal. Shows original folds with scattered foxing and some toning and chips to the edges, else very good. Includes a typed translation.
