Description:

FOUR PRESIDENTS
One of the most unusual signed documents we've encountered, a partly-printed D.S., 1p. sm. folio, Washington, Apr. 5, 1819, a grant of a 160 acre parcel of land in Missouri to one Benjamin Sadler, a veteran. As usual, this document is signed by the president of the time, JAMES MONROE, but a dedicated collector also obtained the later signatures of presidents THEODORE ROOSEVELT, WOODROW WILSON, and WILLIAM H. TAFT Taft's signature is light but legible, otherwise the other signatures are quite bold. Typical foxing and toning. Add the signatures of some of today's living presidents and you'll have a heck of a conversation piece!
