Description:

EYRE COOTE
(1726-1783) Irish soldier and commander of the East India Company. Scarce A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Ghuretty [?], 1762, to fellow East India Company soldier, Maj. John Carnac. In part: "...Before I rec'd your letter of yesterday I had the melancholy account of the poor Bradbridge's death. No one can feel the loss of him more than I do, for I had a real esteem for him. The Company has lost a most excellent Officer. I am so tired of this country that I am almost determined to go home this year if Capn. Lassells comes here. When it is convenient to you I should be glad to see you...". Boldly written and very good.
