(1836 - 1920) Confederate major general, severely wounded at First Bull Run, served with distinction at Chickamauga and Gettysburg. A.L.S. 1p. 8vo., Barton, FL, July 10, 1899, on letterhead of the South Florida Military and Educational Institute to R. D. Stewart, in part: "...Your letter inquiring whether I had rec'd a letter from you...I do not now recall having rec'd such a letter. I notice you addressed the last letter to Yorkville, S.C. I have not lived there since 1893...". Light offsetting at bottom, clear of text, else very good.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
