Rommel, at that time a major in the Infantry School, complains of the deadline for the completion of his book and asks for an extension until the middle of August: "...For the publication I still need the permission of the Reich's War Ministry (R.W.M.) which will be granted only after submission of the proofs...". Light toning, else very good. With a copy of Rommel's finished work, Gefechts - Aufgaben fur Zug und Kompanie, Mittler & Sohn, Berlin, 1934, paper boards, a 76pp. treatise on infantry tactics intended as a handbook for officers, in fine condition.
