Description:

ERNST WILHELM BOHLE (1903 - 1960) Nazi gauleiter of the overseas branch, accused of assisted Hess in writing a letter in English to the Duke of Hamilton, but cleared himself by claiming that be believed Hess had had Hitler's authority. Tried for war crimes and sentenced to five years, but was soon pardoned. Excellent association signed and inscribed book, "Das Neue Deutschland grusst die auslandsdeutschen Nationalsozialisten" ["The New Germany Greets the Foreign German National Socialists"], (Erlangen: Auslands-Organisation der NSDAP), 1936, 88pp. 8vo., a compendium of statements on the contributions of National Socialist organizations outside of Germany written by every major NSDAP, SS and Wehrmacht figure, accompanied by their portraits and signatures. Bohle signs boldly in black ink inside the front cover, adding a dedication to SS chief HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900-1945) and the date "September 1936". Himmler in turn signs beneath the dedication with his initials "HH" in green pencil, confirming his receipt of the book. The publication shows wear and bumps to the edges of the covers, with a very small loss at bottom left, and with minor toning to the interior pages, else very good.
