Enola Gay Relic An exceedingly rare relic from the Enola Gay carried on the mission to bomb Hiroshima August 6, 1945 The item is an Emergency Sustenance Vest Type C 1 packet containing fishing gear clear plastic type with label and all gear measuring 3 x 3in x 1in The box is framed with photos of the bomb the Enola Gay and the explosion, and a notarized Als lp 4to May 27 1989 by Tail Gunner George Caron reading in part this is to certify that the packet was carried by me aboard the B 29 Enola Gay on Aug 6 1945 when we dropped the first Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima Japan It was to be used as a survival item if we ever had to ditch or parachute into the sea Possibly the only flight carried Enola Gay item in private hands
