Description:

EDWARD VIII
(1894-1972) King of England whose abdication of the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson rocked Great Britain and led to his spending the balance of his life in self-imposed exile. Fine vintage S.P. 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" b/w (sight), showing Edward as Prince of Wales, standing with a woman in outdoor garb at his camp in Nepal. Matted with an engraved Nepal camp card at bottom, and simply framed. Mat bears a bit of foxing, but photograph is overall very good, with a fine signature in bright blue ink at bottom.
