Fine grouping of pieces signed by Confederate generals, includes: JAMES CONNER (1829-1883) Confederate brigadier general who served at Fort Sumter, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and the Siege of Petersburg. A.L.S., 1p. 4to., Charleston, 1874, legal content re: a mortgage, damp stain at right; ALFRED H. COLQUITT (1824-1894) Confederate brigadier general who served at Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville, Governor of Georgia, and U.S. Senator, signature (smeared), adding 'Georgia'; FRANCIS M. COCKRELL (1834-1915) Confederate brigadier general captured at Vicksburg and later returned to fight under Hood at Atlanta. Later a U.S. Senator for Missouri, signature on a card; PHILIP COOK (1817-1894) Confederate brigadier general who served at Second Manassas, Antietam, and was wounded at Chancellorsville, signature on a small sheet; RANDALL LEE GIBSON (1832-1892) Confederate brigadier general who led a brigade at Chickamauga and Chattanooga. He also fought under Hood at Atlanta and in Tennessee, signature on a slip of paper; HENRY B. DAVIDSON (1831-1899) Confederate brigadier general of cavalry in the Western Theater of the war. Served with distinction in the Atlanta and Carolina campaigns, signature with rank as brigadier general on a small card; MONTGOMERY D. CORSE (1816-1895) Confederate brigadier general who participated in the Peninsula and Maryland Campaigns commanded George Pickett's brigade at the Battle of Fredericksburg, signature adding rank as brigadier general; and CHARLES M. CONRAD (1804-1878) Brigadier General of Louisiana militia, A.E.S., 1852, as Secretary of War. Eight pieces, overall very good.
