A fine group of four signatures, includes: HENRY WATTERSON (1840-1921) CSA military officer who served under Nathan Bedford Forrest, later edited a pro-Confederate newspaper, The Chattanooga Rebel. Watterson also founded the Louisville Courier-Journal and served part of one term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Bold signature in a 4.5 in. square sheet, adding ‘Louisville, Dec. 19th 1873.' Ink erosion, mounting remains to corners and a bit of creasing, still very good. WITH: HENRY A. WISE (1806-1876) Confederate general during the Civil War and 33rd Governor of Virginia. Bold signature adding place penned on a 6.75 x 2 in. slip. Very good. TOGETHER WITH: JAMES L. ALCORN (1816-1894) Confederate brigadier general, moderate republican senator and governor of Mississippi during Reconstruction. Signature adding ‘Miss' on a small sheet measuring 5.25 x 2.25 in.; and HOWELL COBB (1815-1868) Confederate major general, Speaker of the House, Governor of Georgia, Secretary of the Treasury under President James Buchanan, one of the major founders of the Confederacy. Signature and closing taken from a letter on a slip measuring 6 x 1.75 in. Light and even toning, overall very good. Very good. Four pieces.

International shipments are invoiced by DIMENSIONAL weight, not the item weight.
