Good lot of three items signed by Confederate generals, includes: REUBEN DAVIS (1813-1890), Confederate brigadier general, later a U.S. Congressman and lawyer. Signature in black ink on a 6.75 x 1.5 in. slip of paper cut from an album page, adding ‘Aberdeen Missi[ssippi]'. The signature of Union brevet brigadier general JOSEPH R. COCKRILL appears on the verso in black ink. Very good WITH: THOMAS M. JONES (1832-1917), Confederate acting brigadier general responsible for the evacuation of Pensacola and the destruction of militarily stores prior to Union occupation. Signature in black ink on a 3.75 x 1.5 in. slip of paper cut from the conclusion of a letter, adding his rank ‘Brig Genl Comdg'. Shows soiling and toning overall, mounted on the verso of an unrelated calling card, else very good. WITH: JEPTHA V. HARRIS (1816-1899), Confederate brigadier general of Mississippi State troops, surrendered at Vicksburg. Signature ‘J. V. Harris' in black ink on the verso of a cut section of a partly-printed Confederate soldier's discharge certificate, 1p. 8 x 5.75 in., Columbus, MS, March 6, 1863. Shows expected folds with some toning and soiling overall, else very good. Three pieces.
