CONFEDERATE DEAD AT ANTIETAM An interesting stereoview, 7" x 4" double image on heavy orange mount, depicting a view of Confederate dead surrounding an abandoned limber chest from Parker' Virginia Battery in the field north of the now famous Dunker Church. Published from an image taken by Alexander Gardner on Sept. 19, 1862 in which Gardner was credited by the Northern press of bringing, for the first time, the brutal reality of war to life for the American public.
