HEINRICH DEUBEL (1890 - 1962) German SS officer and Commandant of Dachau from 1934 to 1936 until removed for being too lenient with prisoners, then transferred to KZ Columbia-Haus. Following three years of internment, he escaped imprisonment for war crimes. Rare D.S. as Commandant of Dachau on "Konzentrationslager Dachau Kommandatur" letterhead, 1p. large 4to., [Dachau], Dec. 3, 1934 to Reischsfuhrer-SS Heinrich Himmler concerning a leave of absence or departure from the SS of SS officer von Beurlaubung. File holes at left, else very good.
