636. FRANCIS M. COCKRELL A.L.S. "F.M. Cockrell" on United States Senate letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, D.C., May 3, 1898 to Gen. William B. Franklin, President of the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers. Cockrell writes a letter of recommendation on behalf of Rev. T.M.S. Kerrny: "that he is an old soldier, an intelligent, educated, pleasant, and agreeable gentleman and minister of the Baptist Church in good standing". Usual folds and light soiling, otherwise good.
