Description:

1815. (CLEMENT XIII) (1693-1769) Venetian-born pontiff who's tenure was vexed by the struggle between the conservative Jesuits and the influence of the Enlightenment. Manuscript document, 1p. folio on vellum, Rome, August 4, 1761 in Latin signed by two cardinals. Untranslated, but according to the consignor, it is a Papal Bull (seal now missing) allowing the marriage between two cousins, Mauro Migliore and Dilgina, daughter of Antonio Avergino. Usual folds, some cockling, otherwise very good. $300-500
