Description:

CIVIL WAR ERA CHILDREN'S MARBLE GAME
A superb example of mid-nineteenth century American folk art toys, a handmade rolling marble you expertly crafted from wood. The game features two standing male figures - one of whom resembles "Uncle Sam" with a series of slanted wood rods between them. The rods are scooped on the inside, allowing a marble to be placed and rolled down, exiting through a hole at the bottom. The figures have articulated arms and still bear the bright, although chipped, original paint. Measures 20 1/2" wide x 14" tall. Some wear to paint as expected, one small split to the rod at the bottom, otherwise in very good original condition. Excellent for display!
