CIVIL WAR ADVERTISEMENTS
Nice grouping of three Civil War-era announcements, each beautifully framed in decorative wood. Lot includes: a program highlighting a charity concert "For the Sick and Wounded MASSACHUSETTS SOLDIERS ", oblong 4to., Salem, Jan. 6, 1863, organized by the New England Women's Auxiliary Sanitary Commission and featuring local entertainment; an advertisement for a lecture to be given by Prof. Robert A. Fisher at Philadelphia's Sansom St. Hall, entitled, "GUNPOWDER, CANNON, and PROJECTILES!", 8vo., Mar. 31 [n.y.]. The pamphlet promises audiences will see Fisher's "Great Popular Lecture upon these Engines of Modern Warfare, illustrated by Brilliant CHEMICAL EXPERIMENTS, ACCURATE MODELS, AND FULL SIZED DIAGRAMS..."; an advertisement for a benefit concert on behalf of the "Admiral Semmes Monument", 8vo., July 9 [1896?], [Mobile]. Semmes captained the infamous CSS Alabama for the Confederacy during the Civil War.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyer's should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. Customer's who supply their own courier account number will still be charged a handling fee.
