CARL A. "TOOEY" SPAATZ
(1891-1974) World War II American General who initiated daylight bombing raids over Germany and oversaw the dropping of the atomic bomb. First chief of staff of U.S. Air Force. Vintage I.S.P. 7" x 9" sepia, a formal head and shoulders portrait in uniform, boldly inscribed: "To Johnny Andrews with my great affection and admiration Tooey Spaatz". A bit of damage at right of his face, light wear to top right corner, else very good. Sold with an S.P. by PAUL TIBBETS 10" x 8" b/w, an image of Tibbets standing next to his famed bomber Enola Gay on the runway, boldly signed in blue marker at top right adding: "6 Aug. 1945". Framed, fine condition. Two pieces.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas) or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made.
