Description:

CAPTURED RING OWNED BY ISIS LEADER OF AL DALAB AREA
A phenomenal war souvenir, an ISIL - ISIS leader's ring, captured by American and Iraqi forces from the ISIL leader of the Al Dalab area of Iraq. The ornate ring bears the well-known and feared ISIS emblem upon a crosshatched surface, and within, appears a design reminiscent of an octopus' eight arms. The ring is marked '925' indicating it is sterling silver, and it test as such, the lettering does not convincingly test as gold and may be bronze or only have a very slight gold content. The ring was consigned to us by a member of the U.S. Navy Special Operations Command (SOC) and is accompanied by his letter of provenance. It reads in part: '...This letter is to provide provenance for an ISIL Leader ring personally owned by ISIL leader of Al Dalab region...The ring was taken from the 'Omir' who was the leader of the last ISIL stronghold along the western side of the Euphrates River. It was a key town that kept ISIL fighters on the front line between coalition forces near Al Assad Air base. In the summer of 2016 Navy SEAL trained forces, along with the 7th Iraqi Army Division recaptured this key terrain. The ring that appears to be made of silver and gold was a status symbol that was worn during that time by all significant ISIL leaders, it is a very rare item, and rarely to be captured or seen at any time, or in any place. It is the only artifact of this type that I have personally ever seen...' A superlative item of excessive rarity.
