(1872-1933) Thirtieth President of the United States who succeeded to the presidency upon the death of Harding. T.L.S. on personal letterhead, 1p., 4to., Northampton, December 1, 1932, a letter responding to an apparent request for assistance on working in China: "... The two avenues open to your brother are the Diplomatic Service of the United States which is on a civil service basis; the other is to enter some commercial organization, bank or shipping company that has interests in China...". Boldly signed, " Calvin Coolidge " in black ink. Age toned with tears at the left margin from punch holes and minor adhesive show-through from previous mounting, else fine.
