BRITISH ROYALTY A fine group of items, including: brief T.L.S. by EDWARD VIII "Edward P", 1p. 8vo., London, [June 4, 1935], on letterhead of "King George's Jubilee Trust", thanking the recipient for a contribution, with original transmittal envelope; a T.L.S. with a printed signature of George R.I., 1p., 8vo. [n.d. but ca. 1945], on Buckingham Palace letterhead, in full: "The Queen and I wish you God-speed and a safe return to your homes and dear ones. A grateful Mother Country is proud of your splendid services characterized by unsurpassed devotion and courage"; an attractive printed message signed in print Elizabeth R., 1p., 8vo., with a large full-color royal seal at the top, Buckingham Palace, 1939, in part: "I wish to mark, by this personal message, my appreciation of the service you have rendered to your country in 1939. In the early days of the war you opened your door to strangers who were in need of shelter, & offered to share your home with them...", with original transmittal envelope. Three items, very good.
