BRITISH ARMY VISOR CAPS
Good group of three post-World War II British Army visor caps. Includes: Service dress cap, constructed of khaki wool and bearing a red wool band, indicative of the rank of colonel. A brown leather chin strap is affixed over the wool-covered visor, and a cap badge depicting a lion atop a crown in gold bullion wire and velvet is affixed at the front of the cap. This badge shows some luminescence under blacklight. The interior of the cap is fitted with a brown leather sweat band, with a plastic sweat shield within the crown protecting a label bearing denoting the cap size 7 1/8. Very good to fine. WITH: Postwar universal pattern forage cap, constructed of dark blue wool with red piping encircling the crown and a red wool band. The cap is fitted with a treated leather visor covered with black lacquer and with a single brass band along the edge, indicating use by an enlisted man. A black plastic chin strap is affixed over the visor, with a brass badge at front in the form of a "grenade fired proper" with seventeen flames, the insignia of the Grenadier guards. The interior features a white leather sweat band and a plastic sweat shield. The owner''s name "Smith" and his serial number have been inscribed on the sweat band and within the crown. The crown also bears the size label 7 1/8. Very good. WITH: Postwar universal pattern forage cap, constructed of dark blue wool with red piping encircling the crown and a diced red-white and dark blue band, indicating use by the Scots Guards. The cap is fitted with a treated leather visor covered with black lacquer and with a single brass band along the edge, indicating use by an enlisted man. The interior bears a white leather sweat band, and a paper label bearing the manufacturer''s name and the size 55 is affixed within the crown. No cap badge is fitted, else very good. Three pieces.

Shipments are sent via USPS Priority, USPS International Priority, DHL (for most overseas shipments) or FedEx Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature is always required, unless other arrangements are made.
