1125. RICHARD I. BONG (1920 - 1945) American ace and Medal of Honor recipient, with 40 kills and 7 "probables" all in the same P-38, killed in the flame-out of a P-80. Fine, bold signature adding "Enaja?", executed in black fountain ink on a small sheet of textured paper. Likely taken from a letter. Handsomely framed with a photograph at left. Light offsetting to left margin, lightly affected "R" in first name, else very good condition. Unexamined out of frame. $700 - 900
