Shows folds with chips to the edges and minor damp stains to the bottom, else very good. Jameson" in black ink on an irregularly-trimmed 4 1/4" x 3/4" slip of paper. Shows an old price in pencil at top right, else very good. WITH: THOMAS KELLY-KENNY (1840-1914), British Army lieutenant-general commanding the Sixth Division, fought at the relief of Kimberly and the battles of Paardeberg, Poplar Grove and Driefontein. Signature "J.K. Kenny" in black ink on a 3 3/4" x 2 3/4" card, adding his rank and command. Shows a horizontal fold at bottom, with pencil identifying inscriptions to recto and verso, else very good. WITH: JOSEPH CHAMBERLAIN (1836-1914), British imperialist politician who fomented the Second Boer War by ensuring troop buildups and advocating for the rights of British settlers. Signature "J. Chamberlain" in black ink on a 3" x 1 3/4" slip of paper, beneath a salutation in another hand. Shows pencil identifying inscriptions to recto and verso, else very good. Each signed item is accompanied by a period color lithograph portrait of the subject, with a second b/w portrait of Chamberlain.
