Barry", 1 p. 4to, Headquarters Eastern Division, New York, May 2, 1849, a manuscript copy of Orders No. 5 regarding the record of court martial proceedings. In part: "...the record of all General Courts Martial should show 'That the Court was duly sworn by the Judge Advocate, & the Judge Advocate was duly sworn by the presiding officer of the Court, in presence of the accused..." Large, bold signature and uneven toning. Good. $150-200
