1061. ROBERT BADEN-POWELL (1857 - 1941) English soldier and the savior of Mafeking who later founded the Boy Scouts. Superb association I.S.P., 8" x 10" b/w, a stunning close-up of the Chief Scout showing him in uniform from the lower chest, up, boldly inscribed: "With best wishes to Dr. Charles D. Hart from Robert Baden Powell May 1919". Photographer's blind embossed stamp at bottom, two negligible edge faults far from image, else fine condition. Hart was a major organizer of the Boy Scouts in Philadelphia and was a Boy Scouts author as well. 500 - 700
