[ Autographs ] VICTORIA (1819 - 1901) Queen of England, reigned during the Crimean and Boer Wars, abolished the East India Company, brought Disraeli to power as Prime Minister, and is considered the symbol of a unified British Empire. Uncommon A.L.S. "V.R.I." in her first year as Queen, 2pp. 8vo. on monogrammed black-bordered mourning stationery, Osborne, 1837. In part: "...I am anxious to express again my sincere concern at the loss you have sustained in the death of yoursister...I therefore am very anxious to express my true sympathy withyou...". Very good.
