[ Autographs ] Union Soldier's Letter Union soldier's letter, 2pp. 4to., Vicksburg, June 9, 1865 Billy writes a lady, in part: ''..we have once more got back to the Mississippi River after having a long and hard march... we are expecting to be mustered out in a few days.. I am in the Christian Commission rooms writing this. There is two young ladies here waiting on the soldiers and I can't hardly keep my eyes off of them I have three or four thousand [Confederate] dollars ... the boys use it for playing poker..."
