[ Autographs ] Union Soldier's Letter Union soldier's letter, 3pp. 8vo., Camp Butterfield, Hall's Mill, Va., Jan. 6, 1862 Will Story of the 44th. N.Y. writes a female friend, in part: "... I suppose you would like to know how we live. We have a tent about ten feet square.. . up about three feet high with logs... we have got a small stove so we can keep warm and can do our own cooking. For a bed we have a lot of poles raised up from the ground which sleeps very well for a soldier... I do not think we will leave here in two weeks but when we do move I think we will have some fun..."
