[ Autographs ] SLAVE RESTRAINT SHACKLE An interesting relic, a slave leg restraint shackle, taken from the Alexandria Slave Pens during the Civil War by Samuel G. Boone of the Reading Artillerists. Samuel G Boone is known to have accumulated a number of interesting relics during and immediately after the War. This leg or arm restraint is accompanied by a period identifying tag in period ink reading: "Slave Shackles brought from slave pen, Alexandria, Va., by S. G. Boone in 1861". Very good to fine.
