[ Autographs ] PIUS XII (1939 - 1958) Pope who maintained neutrality in World War II, opposed Catholic collaboration with the Communists and maintained traditional Catholic social doctrine. D.S. "Pius P.P. XII" 1 1/2pp. folio, Rome, Oct. 20, 1948 to the President of Peru concerning an ambassador. Beautifully calligraphied in Latin, and boldly signed by the Pope in black ink. Very good.
