[ Autographs ] JOHN B. GORDON (1832 - 1904) Confederate major generalwho led a brigade at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg, and crushed Grant's line at the Wilderness. Rare and very late war-date signed endoresement as major general: "Hd. Qrs. 2nd. Corps, Mar. 4, 1865, Res For. J.B. Gordon, Maj. Gen. Army". Gordon's last command was that of the Second Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, which he surrendered on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox. Very good.
