[ Autographs ] HEINRICH HIMMLER (1900 - 1945) Hitler's Chief of the Gestapo placed in charge of security and responsible for the construction and operation of extermination camps. He chose suicide rather than face a hangman's noose at Nuremburg. Scarce partly-printedD.S. "H. Himmler" on "Der Reichsfuhrer" letterhead, [Berlin] Field Command Location, Apr. 9, 1942, in which Himmler presents an S.S. Death's Head ring to one Obersturmfuhrer August Dieckman. reading, in part: "...[the ring] means: A sign of loyalty to the Fuhrer, our unalterable obedience to our superiors and our unflinching unity...Theskull is a reminder that we are ready at all times to risk our own lives...the runes...are a sign of our glorious past, to which we are newly attached by the philosophy of national Socialism...The Swastika and Hagall runes are to remind us of our unshakable faith...The ring is not for sale and must never come into others' hands...Wear the Ringwith honor!...". Some staining at extreme bottom and top margins, well away from signature and text, otherwise very good
