[ Autographs ] (Gettysburg Artillery) Extraordinary A.Ms. (unsigned) 1p. 8in x 24in prepared by Captain Nelson Ames of the lst New York Light Artillery, which was positioned near the center of the line facing Pickett's division at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863 The document is headed "List of Battles in Which Battery G lst N. Y Lt. Arty.... was engaged... 'Ames lists 74 engagements, commencing at RappahannockStation, March 10, 1862 and includes action at Fair Oaks, Malvern Hill, Antietam, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Spotsylvania, and many more, ending April 3, 1865 with the Confederate abandonment of Petersburg. Additionally, Ames has listed the number of rounds expended in each battle, noting that 1,376 rounds were expended at Gettysburg, 733 at Chancellorsville, 932 at Antietam, and so on. A few chips on right margin, three damp stains not affecting text, otherwise good condition.
