[ Autographs ] DAVID D. PORTER (1813 - 1891) Union admiral who received the surrenders of Forts Jackson and St. Philip, and was indispensable in the siege and subsequent Union victory at Vicksburg. Fine war-date signed carte-de-visite photograph showing Porter seated in uniform from the waist, up with one hand tucked into his jacket, signed in the white bottom margin: "David D. Porter R Admiral Cmdg Miss[issippi] Squadron". Slight soiling and wear, overall very good.
