[ Autographs ] Confederate Soldier's Letter Confederate soldier's letter, 4pp. 8vo., Gordons ville, Va., Aug. 16, 1862 to a lady. Shortly before Lee's Maryland campaign, G. A. Walden writes: "... We are now under marching orders... some say we will go back to Richmond.. I suppose our General anticipates a great battle here, and if we light and are victorious, expect to be in Washington to spend the Winter I am getting tired of this war and how!...."
