As the situation worsens for the Confederacy, the paper describes a Union negro unit: "...its sable pickets daily tramp within easy musket range... ", reports on Stoneman's raids, Hood's setbacks near Nashville, and mentions "... General [Nathan Bedford] Forrest, with his splendid cavalry... has a way of turning up unexpectedly..."Very good.
