[ Autographs ] (Battle Of Gettysburg) A very detailed account of the battle of Gettysburg, as published in Moore's Weekly New Yorker, a weekly rural newspaper, Rochester, N.Y., July 18, 1863, but probably published earlier. The headline reads "The Battle of Gettysburg" and give a blow-by-blow account of the conflict, including a description of Pickett's Charge In part: "...They rushed in perfect order across the open field, up to the very muzzles of our guns, which tore lanes through them as they came. But they met men who were their equals in spirit, and their superiors in tenacity. There never was better lighting since Thermopolae... " Much greater detail of events surrounding this watershed in American history. Clean and uncut.
