[ Autographs ] ANDREW JACKSON (1767 - 1845) Seventh President of the United States, "Old Hickory" became a national hero in his defense ofNew Orleans and as president encouraged Western expansion and paid off the national debt. Partly-printed D.S. "Andrew Jackson" as President, vellum, 3pp. folio, Washington, April 6, 1856, a patent issued to Frederick Gray for his improvement to "the machine used for Pegging Shoes and Boots," with an insert of a watercolor drawing depicting the machine. Folds and minor paper loss to the insert only,else boldly signed and very good.
