[ Autograph ] Coal Stocks Large volume of about 500 stock certificates for The Clearfield Bituminous Coal Company, Clearfield, Pa., 1883, with a vignette in the center of five miners at work deep in a mine. All but 40 of the shares are unissued, those issued are signed by mine president C. J. Langdon. One certificate is for 4,200 shares issued to Cornelius Vanderbilt, Jr. and signed by him on verso others made out to and signed by George Magee, James Tillinghast, John Lang, J.D.F. Slee, William D. Kelley, William A. Wallace, John C Reading, and others. Sold with about fifty stock certificates for the Chestnut Ridge Coal Co., Pennsylvania, all unissued.
